Hello, I’m Fiona. A Bristol based cyanotype artist and collage illustrator. I have a love of contrasting colours, delicious textures and the continually surprising beauty of nature.
I work and live in Bristol, UK, with my lovely husband José. I’ve been based at BV Studios since 2016 and thoroughly enjoy when we open up the big grey shutter and welcome you all in as part of our annual Open Studios weekend each April.
When I’m not at the studio, I love cosy evenings on the sofa with embroidery, devouring delicious hot chocolates and cooking for friends. I’m an Auntie x2 and it’s one of my favourite roles in life. I’m excellent at napping, as my studio mates can confirm, and take advantage whenever possible. I also enjoy tending to my ever-growing houseplant collection, visiting new cafes and playing board games.
Greetings Cards
I’ve enjoyed designing and selling greeting cards for over 10 years. I love creating bright, bold designs, created to bring a little joy to your day.
Cards are much more than a design on a page. They’re used to mark the most special occasions, remind friends you’re thinking of them during tricky times and to celebrate both the small and the big wins.
My card designs are all created using paper collage, often combined with my own handwriting. I create clean, colourful collages using hand-textured, cut paper. My handmade paper designs are transferred to the computer to then be printed as a small range of cards.

Cyanotypes
I fell in love with cyanotype in 2024. After enjoying an initial workshop in Portugal two years before, I began experimenting at home and in the garden in the summer of 2024. Cyanotype is such a fun and experimental process, and I enjoyed spending time learning as I was making. Once I’d mastered a few of the basics, the playing continued but this time with confidence when experimenting with composition, coloured papers and layering.
My cyanotypes are made using pressed leaves, flowers and grasses, all gathered and pressed by hand. I 'borrow' things from local green spaces in Bristol as well as grow and collect things from my garden. The results achieved with some of the smallest of finest leaves still surprises me now. I’ve also started experimenting with combining paper collage and cyanotype, something I’ll be working on more over the coming months.
As well as cyanotypes, learning how to press flowers has been a joy. Discovering which types press well and for what reasons, collecting foliage on wanders in the park and growing flowers in my garden to then press and create artwork with. Joy!
In early 2026 I began running cyanotype workshops, sharing my love of cyanotype and the magical process with others. Workshops are relaxed, experimental and fun, and are designed to give you the space and tools to play with this process using pressed botanicals.
I have exhibited my botanical cyanotypes alongside collage work in local Bristol art trails and exhibitions. At a recent Open Studios event, a visitor described my cyanotypes as 'crispy clean', which I really loved and it’s sat with me since.
